I tried my hardest not to look at MindFirst as another weight-loss “fad” when I started my journey. After my first 2 weeks I was BLOWN AWAY, I immediately started to look at things in a different light.
As for my weight loss journey it is slow, It took me awhile to understand that it is not a race but a journey. There will be ups and downs but if you stay on track you will succeed (thanks MK!).
The stress factor was such a huge hurdle for me and boy 3 months later I can almost say I am STRESS FREE. I looked forward to every week with an open mind and a great attitude. I can honestly say (not to brag) I am a better more loving and kind person today than I was 3 months ago. I am more present and 100% more open minded today! I am extremely excited to continue this journey, this is my lifestyle now and I would not have it any other way.

I was raised a traditionalist, a conservative and an old-school New Englander, with a belief that meditation was for liberals, and exercise was for health nuts and high-strung “A” personality types, but I knew I needed to control my stress and my weight, and so I started my introduction into the MindFirst program.
I’ve transformed my mind and my overall lifestyle in ways that are hard to describe. After three months I have an ability to focus, to enjoy the moment and the simple everyday pleasures. But most of all I have channeled my energies to being healthy and fit. I’ve lost over 20 pounds. I sleep better with the added daily meditations. I’m able to accomplish tasks that have often been shoved to the back of my to do list.
But the one key change that is hard to describe is the renewed relationship I have with my wife. We have a goal: we want to be together healthy as long as we can. With new food choices and daily exercise in our lifestyle, we enjoy each other more. I have no doubt my wife and I will achieve our weight goal keep that weight as we move closer to retirement.

I’ve been in another weight loss programs and what I found was in those programs the focus was on achieving your goal weight: all the focus was getting there and then once the objective was met people, well, most folks, including myself, went back to our old habits and put all the weight back on.
So this was really different to me. You know, in the the other programs we were never taught how to change our perceptions of the food that we eat and how you can properly fuel your body and that eating healthy food could actually be delicious. I’ve learned how to visualize my results so I can see myself being lean and healthy. I focus on the positive. I know it’s rewired my brain and these are all key parts of the MindFirst program. So, it’s so different because it’s not about getting to goal weight, it’s about changing not only the way you think about food, but how you live your life.
I’m learning to live in the present, being able to manage my stress and I’m much more relaxed now and confident, which has made it so much easier for me to live a healthy and active life. I’ve got plenty of wonderful foods that are delicious and that just happen also be good for you. In just the first 90 days the program I’m down 32 and a half pounds have lowered both my cholesterol and blood pressure.
